Like you, international life coach and inspirational speaker, Tarryn Tomlinson, has had struggles in life which brought about a deep yearning for understanding, peace and joy.
Mostly it brought about a yearning for understanding why she developed severe Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of eighteen which left her wheelchair bound. In a bid to heal herself and her life she read countless books in the fields of; natural health, psychology, religion, spirituality, philosophy and quantum science.
After years of searching and developing new understandings she came across a modality of thinking that was at once so simple yet answered all her complex questions and helped her launch one of her biggest dreams. In a short space of time she achieved, using what she had learned what most would believe to be impossible.
She has taught many people this way of thinking via her private coaching, inspirational speaking and writing. She has a background in marketing and writing and is the founder of the Bambini Dream Foundation. She has been interviewed for a number of television, radio and written publications (newspapers/magazines) both locally and internationally.
Please tell us a little more about yourself and your journey thus far.
My journey has been one of coming home to myself and helping others to do the same. Letting go of the negative and limiting perceptions I have of myself and life. Having gone through a lot of emotional pain growing up and then physical pain due to arthritis I have always been someone who has searched for meaning. Though I come across as carefree and joyous (which I am) my mind is filled with things that matter, things of a deeper nature.
It is because of my own pain and struggles that I have come to such a great understanding about life and why my life’s work is to help people. Whether it be the children of my foundation, my clients or people who surround me. I am passionate about helping people find their power by letting go of thoughts that do not serve them as those are the only thing standing between us and the lives we wish to live.
You are busy with some very interesting projects. Please tell us a little more about that.
Aside from the work I do as a speaker, life coach and charity work I have stepped into a new arena as a travel ambassador. I have recently started working with Opulent Living Travel as one of their Brand Ambassadors. We are working on some interesting projects which could see me travelling around SA more writing reviews. – well, the sky’s the limit and I would not say that this may lead to complete career change because I love what I do but just that the ambassador role adds to the work I am doing.
What are you passionate about?
Hmmm, I am passionate about so many things I would sum it up by saying I am passionate about living. I bring passion into what I do because I am a passionate person. I am passionate about people, experiences, mysteries, love, beauty and creativity. I am passionate about connection.
Who or what has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
Pain. Pain has been the biggest influence in my life because it has taught me lessons no other could. It has moulded and shaped my thoughts and beliefs. It has made me reach for a way out helping me find higher thoughts and better experiences. As with anything we choose to see something as a hindrance or a tool. Pain has been my greatest teacher and the reason I am so happy now.
What is your personal motto?
If you always do what you always did you’ll always get what you always got.
What advice would you give a woman wanting to follow her dreams?
You know exactly where you are going and what you are wanting although you will never feel secure in that knowing until you let go of the voices of others, even society as a whole. Live in a way that is respectful of others but stop trying to please others, you have the right to create the life you want to create and you need no one else’s permission to do so.
You also do not need to know it all, just act and you will gain the knowledge and skills as you go along if you keep learning. Funny enough when you become sure of yourself all manner of opportunities present themselves to you that would not have come before, and that is because your life is nothing but a mirror reflecting back to you what you believe to be true about yourself.
What are your top 3 business tips?
- Your network is your net worth because opportunities don’t fall from the sky they come via people. That being said, be genuine in the way you relate and truly be interested in people and building mutually beneficial relationships.
- Surround yourself with people who know more than you, business is about constantly learning and who better than to learn from those with experience?
- As much as possible keep your focus on the fun of your business. It can be easy to get caught up in the daily humdrum but try and keep the same energy of excitement and possibility you started your business with. Let your days be filled with passion.
What would you say is the secret to your success?
The secret to my success would definitely be getting rid of my limiting beliefs about myself, life in general and other people. Opportunities abound, life is an awesome adventure but we can never experience that if we are stuck in negativity. My success thus far has come about because I dream big and I work on my internal stuff to get rid of the thoughts which would impede me from living a fuller and expanded life. I do not subscribe to any thoughts that are not life affirming.

Your favourite quote:
Far too many to pick one!
What advise would you give your younger self?
Keep doing what you are doing Tarryn because you will turn out just fine.
One general piece of advice you would like to share:
Watch the things you say about yourself and your world because you are creating your reality. The things you say whether seriously or in jest speak of what your beliefs are but they also further cement them. Never say things about yourself or your world that you do not like to experience. What you speak will return to you as the circumstances of your life.
