Nicola Jackman is an innovative, award-winning Performing Heartist, Story Weaver, and Thrive Facilitator. Born in Zimbabwe she attended 13 schools around Southern Africa and continues to keep moving, with her creative and inspirational facilitation and story weaving around the world.
Nicola has taken her Soap Opera acting journey from Isidingo in 1998 to much greater levels on stage and screen, where she continues to be a popular Story Weaver, MC & Keynote Speaker of choice. From conferences to board rooms – she travels internationally enthusing joyous delight as an MC, or with her keynote talks (see her TedXCapeTown Talk here), story weaving sessions, “Popuptheatre”, her spoken-word UV show “LooneyVerse” and her acclaimed one-woman family show and book “MAfrika”.
Nicola is also a Thrive coach and joy catalyst – as the founder of The UPliftment Programme (www.theup.org.za) a successful South African rooted charity inspiring humanKIND to practice being both human and KIND, they’ve trained up hundreds of volunteers – who share love and joy in homes and hospitals – bringing emotional care to those that need it most. This focus on joy – gave Nicola the awesome opportunity of being a TedX Cape Town speaker in 2014. She was also one of Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year in 2013 and in 2015 she became a global ambassador of kindness.
“I’ve been a performing heartist for most of my life, professionally on stage & screen for 24 years and my stand for humanKIND has me MCing, coaching, and mentoring for the past 15 years too. I love encouraging good people to live joyfully thriving lives. I share tools in groups and in person and I’m grateful to have supported hundreds of individuals to live happier and healthier lives.

Please tell us a little more about how your company came about.
I co-created Thrivors Productions with Torsten Kremser and Ryan Christian, following our shared desire to co-create a thriving world. We felt that through media we could influence, enthuse hope, and inspire action in our world. We felt edutainment was the best way to support the world to move beyond the survivor story and become thrivors together.
Please tell us a little about the Thrivors TV Series and how it came about.
It’s a 5-year dream in fruition – to see a real tv show that shows the best of our human traits and the challenges we all face in our world.
This bold new Real Tv series has no eliminations and showcases the real competition – our egos and limited time. Each season explores the human condition and our human capacity to thrive as we work together for the greatest good of all.
We wanted to put a spotlight on the bold leaders who already live in a way where they care for others and the world – while they also take care of themselves.
With this in mind – season after season, “Thrivors” audience will experience a new hand-picked group of 8 thrivors, chosen for their diverse and unique mastery – across innovation, arts, human relating, science, business, and technology – live and work together for 21 days.
