Sales can be a tough game and it is certainly not for the faint of heart. Not that I want to scare you off ever doing sales! With this being said, the reality is you can boost your sales confidence. The more you work at growing your confidence the easier sales becomes.

Why not ask for help? We’ve been raised in a society where we get things done, we don’t ask for help and usually go it alone. Sometimes this is a good thing. However, if you’re really struggling to boost your sales confidence and you truly want to grow as a person and scale your business, why not reach out to the experts?

Perhaps a mere Google search will suffice, or you can ask within your network as to who can help you. Or reach out on LinkedIn or Facebook to find the sales experts in your field.

You’d be surprised at what you’ll find. And even more surprised with the results once you’ve entered into this sales journey with that one person who resonates with you and your business.

If you had to approach a sales expert, who is worth their weight in gold, they would probably check the following with you:

1. Do you know your Why?
Have you heard of Simon Sinek’s The Golden Circle? He has dedicated talks and a website to starting with your Why. You need to be clear on why you are willing to go through this process to get where you want to be. The clearer your why the easier it is for you to get up in the mornings and do what you do to achieve your goals. There will always be rejection in sales and if your why is strong then you can breeze past these kind of obstacles with a view of the bigger picture.

2. There will never be the perfect time, do it now
You know, I come from a sales school of hard knocks, not taking no for an answer and certainly not accepting excuses from myself or others, staff included (you can ask my team what I think of excuses! 🙂 ) Stop procrastinating, stop waiting for that perfect moment to launch your business, or a new product, or to sell on a daily basis. The only way to start is to start. Simple really 🙂 There will never be a perfect time, now is the perfect time! In this sales case I would action carpe diem.

3. Realise that sales is a game
Understand that by asking for the sale or entering into any sales conversation where you could possibly be rejected does not define you as a person. Each interaction is separate to your life after the cold call, or sales meeting. Like with any game you win some and you lose some. The trick is to learn to not take rejection personally. The next trick is to learn the art of communication and listen to what is being said and not being said to always ensure you walk away with the sale!

Bringing it together
Why is it important to ask for help to boost your sales confidence? It’s important to get outside help because you see yourself and your business from one perspective, your own. By bringing in a sales expert you get an un-biased outsiders viewpoint on your strengths and your passion, treated with compassion and understanding to ensure that your sales journey fits you and your business.
