itel Mobile brand ambassador, Big Zulu recently partered with Ackermans of the retailer’s Connect stores. Big Zulu made an appearance at the Mall of Africa store, which will be one of four stores to be launched by the group in Gauteng.

The ribbon-cutting event which took place on Thursday 26 May, also spoilt shoppers to a meet and greet with the Mali Eningi hit maker, Big Zulu which ensured a hive of activity and excitement as this would be one of the first physical Connect stores to be launched.

In 2021, the retailor launched its online Connect store which ranged from feature phones to tablets, to routers, to name a few. The shop offered consumers products available at its clothing stores, with the addition of a number of high-end devices and gadgets.

Ackermans plans to open at least 50 physical Connect stores around the South Africa by the end of fourth quarter of 2022.

The stores will provide consumers with an elevated cellular experience and will stock and sell a range of cellular products including smartphones such as the itel Vision 1 Pro and Vision 2 Plus, feature phones, earbuds and other accessories.

“This move by Ackermans to have cellular experience is a value add to the consumers and we are delighted to have partnered for the opening of the Mall of Africa store,” says Zikona Captain, itel Mobile PR Manager, SA.
